Hi! My name is Micaela. I have struggled in alcohol addiction for 18 years. This is my story and journey of living alcohol free. Even without alcohol, life is still life, and I hope you'll join me on my written journey of the ups and downs of living it. Additionally, by removing alcohol, I have been able to raise my consciousness in tandem with spiritual and neurological work, for me to live a life I love and feel aligned with. I hope you will join me on this journey of expanding, evolving and growing spiritually.
Just finished reading QUIT LIKE A WOMAN: THE RADICAL CHOICE TO NOT DRINK IN A CULTURE OBSESSED WITH ALCOHOL by Holly Whitaker and does it deliver! I really enjoyed this read. She really covers all the bases, from discussion of the toxic substance to core beliefs or getting to the root of the need to drink, to healthy coping mechanisms. I enjoyed this reading because it takes on the addictive substance (ethanol) and the systems that have kept it in such a powerful place, rather than the user. Her narrative of how personal recovery heals the sickness in our society is a viewpoint that is so expansive. It made me feel like this problem is so much bigger than just me, and gave me conviction to be continue to be part of the resistance!
